About

Hi, I'm Sam Leatherdale.

I'm currently working as a software engineer at Atlassian.

I like to work on programming and web projects in my spare time, most of which are showcased here on the Projects page, or can be found on my GitHub profile.

I graduated from Western Sydney University in 2019 with a Bachelor of Computer Science, majoring in Operating Systems Programming.

In 2015 - 2016, I was a student of the Western Sydney Institute of TAFE NSW, Australia, where I studied the Diploma of Information Technology, Certificate IV in Programming, and a Certificate IV in Web Based Technologies. During my time at TAFE, I was awarded Student of the Year for Information Technology.

Technologies

I love continually learning new web development languages and frameworks. I specialize in the following technologies:

• JavaScript (Node.js, React, TypeScript, jQuery)
• PHP (CodeIgniter, Yii)
• MySQL/MariaDB
• HTML5 and CSS (SASS/SCSS/LESS)

I also have experience with the following technologies:

• Python
• C# and .NET Core
• SQL Server
• Java

Achievements

In October 2016, I won the WorldSkills National Competition for Web Design and Development. It was a tough 3 day competition and skills including original webpage design, client-side scripting, server-side programming, database creation and interaction, and Photoshop/Illustrator design were tested.

I also attended the National Computer Science School at the University of Sydney in January 2016.
